Container Counts: 1 Yellow
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour
Makes: 216 chips (if use 36 count bag)
Serving Size: 12 chips (2 shells)
Ingredients:
1-36 count bag of 6-in corn tortillas (NOT flour)
3-4-tsp. EVOO
Sea salt, to taste
Directions:
1) Preheat oven to 350°.
2) Lightly brush olive oil onto one side of tortilla shell, and then putting shells in a stack, cut in half, and then each half into thirds.
3) Place chips on a non-stick cooking sheet (I usually line mine with non-stick foil for easier clean up) so that they are not touching, or else they won't get crispy.
4) Lightly sprinkle with sea salt to taste, and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until chips are lightly browned and crunchy. Serve up with some of your favorite salsa or guacamole and enjoy!
If I had to choose my #1 absolute weakness when it comes to food, it would be CHIPS. Particularly, chips and salsa! Give me some good tortilla chips, homemade salsa, and a beer, and I'm a happy girl for days! With summertime fast approaching, I can now treat myself to a little indulgence snack that's quick and easy (and cheap!) to make from home! Mmm mmmm!
Tip: If serving with salsa, remember that salsa counts as 1 purple container.
